OTHER
STORYTELLERS
Fortunately there are
a lot of right ways to tell stories, and there are many brilliant
storytellers waiting to be heard.. We have chosen two who have
interesting websites to let you explore some of the diversity
which the storytelling community offers. (For anyone who feels
left out, the list of featured tellers will be constantly changing.)
Jay O'Callahan Time Magazine once
called him, "A genius among storytellers." Those who
have heard him over the years never question it. Known for his
ability to probe deeply into the heart of a story, at one moment
he might reveal insights into his childhood (and our own as well)
as we laugh at common memories. In the next moment he can take
us to very uncomfortable places and bring us back, healed in
the process. The newsletter on his website is a particular joy
to read.
Bill Harley Few artists are able to appeal
to both children and adults, but Bill has been doing just that
as he has shared his unique blend of story and music in thousands
of performances over the past decade. Described by Entertainment
Weekly as "the Mark Twain of children's music,"
Harley is especially known for the insight and humor he brings
to his observations about growing up and parenting. No matter
who you are, you'll enjoy learning more about what Bill has to
offer.

and the world, go the the National Storytelling Network
